........New York City is the media capital of the world. Currently over 30 film,and TV projects are underway in the Big Apple. have you watched TV lately? Well if you have,then you realize the number of Police/Detective dramas,Hospital/Doctor Shows that are on TV.
If you are in New york city,or close too it,then you are in poasition,to work as an extra on these shows. Using specific waredrobe,and certain uniforms,or looks will get you what can and will amount to full time work.

...so the question is,how? How do I work as an Extra in NY full time? One word-WAREDROBE!
Drectors hire characters,not actors the shows that use NYPD uniformed Extras . Like Law and Order,Blue Bloods,Uforgetable,Prime Suspect,Person Of Interest,The 22 etc.
These are all "cop" shows. extras casting agencies,will hire extraas who have the following waredrobe or skills. NYPD real uniform,NY EMT uniform,Detective type suits,perp/criminal like attire or look. if you have this waredrobe,or a good cop/thug/business/detective look,you will work-OFTEN as an extra in NY. Where do you find uniforms? There are stores in Ny that sell NYPD and EMF uniforms. or ask other actors while on set!
What other types of clothes can get me work fast?
Doctor shows such as Nurse jackie or Royal Pains,also cop shows like Law and order or Blue Bloods,will often use peopelewho own scrubs,green or blue,for hospital,or doctor seens. if you own scrubs,you will work baby belive me! Scrubs can be bought and uniform stores in teh city,or on line.
in Addition to These uniforms,a great waredrobe will also get you much film work! waredrobe like,Business suits and attire,athletic wear especially joggers,and basketball players wear. High trend fasion,think TV shows like Gossip Girl ,NY hipster wear,urban wear,thug wear,tattoos! Possess an awesome waredrobe,or real uniforms,and work as much as you want in the filmand Tv business,in NYC !!!!

Yes Movies use cars and motorcycles in scenes, if you did not notice! Where do you think they find those cars of theirs? Some are what is known in biz as "picture cars" or cars purchased or leased for the movie or show.
Many are not picture cars,many are cars and their owners whom were hire by extras casting agenceies and services (for a list of Extras Casting agents click "Extras casting Agencies" in the left hand bar).
How do you get your car in a movie? Simple register with an extra casting agency in New York,once registered you will begin to receive emails,and or phone calls requesting 'cars"m for Tv show scenes,and or movie scenes,shooting in NYC. if available,tell them yes,and your done. If you are available often with your car,you may get used quite often,who knows maybe even a close up of you standing by your car.
No special type of car is needed,but older cars from the 50s,60s,70s,80s,and 90s are often requested. newer model cars get plenty of work too,so don't sweat it! if your available,and reliable,they'll use your car eventually!!!
